What sanctions does the US think they can actually press against Iran? Is this just political propaganda to make our politicians seem as if they care? They aren't going to do anything. Do you actually think our import/export ban of Iran has stopped them? They are just trading with China.

Will USA or UNO impose sanctions/ Oil Embargo against Iran ? Is it a Real possibility that US will demand sanctions from UNO against Iran and in that,a beginning with an Oil Embargo- like it did against Iraq ? Can the world afford the situation of the absence of Iranian oil in the market ? Does OPEC have any political structure to aid it's members, militarily, in case of an invasion by a foreign power ?Do the Arab & Muslim Nations have a political structure for a military defence against a foreign military invasion? if yes, what had happened to it in Iraq war & Afghanistan war ?

Do agree with Fred Thompson's opinion that the Soviet Union will not impose sanctions on Iran? Fred Thompson said: "We’re seeing some success with some minor economic sanctions right now. I think the best way to describe it as probably aggravating the Iranians more than anything. It’s not really hurting them. I’m afraid that the Soviet Union & China are not ever going to do anything that’s going to hurt them that badly but we need to ratchet those up if at all possible." Re Sanctions, Iran. How does one country (the U.S.) "FREEZE THE ASSETS" of another country??....? ......such as Iran if the plan had gone through (see follo'wg article). How do we even know where & in which banks Iran keeps its money? Or suppose Iran $ not even kept in banks??? How Will The New Sanctions Effect Iran? Will they take action? And what of the 15 brittish servicemen that the Brits still haven't been allowed to talk to? Please someone else answer this question so theres not a chance this first poster gets 10 points. It amazes me that people who think this way also no how to do things like feed themselves.

Would continuing the dialogue be better than imposing sanctions on Iran? Iran is still continuing on its nuclear program, and the political stunts Iran's president have been aimed more at trying to justify their nuclear program rather than trying to compromise with western nations. However, this clearly shows that dialogue is still an option, even after the deadline. Iran is unlikely to shut off all diplomatic relations and work for a Nuclear Bomb at all speed, and it "seems" that they are honest in their pursuit of nuclear power. Or is it a trick? What should the UN security council do? North Korea is nothing like Iran. It's almost as if some want it to be like North Korea in order to make up their inactiviness on that front by instead of attacking Iran. Military operations could indeed be an option if the program didn't have some support from the public... There's no army left that can police a country of 70 million people.... or about 15 Finlands.
