What would the US do, if the world put sanctions on the country, for illegally invading Iraq?
I was just thinking about the sanctions placed on Iran for building a nuclear bomb. I don't agree with it. Who are we to judge. What if the world judged us, and found us guilty of invading Iraq. Shouldn't something be done as well? Do you think the oil prices is some form of sanction/punishment?

- sanctions on the USA lol, that's funny. you do realize if our economy falls so does every one else because Americans are the biggest spenders in the world, so good luck with that
- you want Iran to have an atomic bomb? you are stupid. they will blow them off. it can only cause problems if more countries get the bomb
- Since we are one of the world's largest economys, sanctions on us would hurt the sanctioners as much as they hurt us. Who are we to judge? Its not a matter of judgement, its a matter of safety. We have the right to stop potential enemies from building powerful weapons. Its survival. The oil prices rise is caused by a combination of things. Its too complicated to go into here, but read up on it. Your suposition is completely wrong.
- I don't mean to sound full of myself, but the world as a whole wouldn't dare stand up the the U.S. The effects it would have on everyone else would be very negative. I know that a large portion of the world does in fact judge America for invading Iraq. Was it right to invade? I honestly don't know, and that is a debatable question. You could argue that we liberated an entire country from oppression and set up a free society and democracy. No, I don't think there is some vast conspiracy to punish America with high oil prices. There are many logical factors. However, they don't necessarily justify the increase in price that we've seen in the last couple of months. Just my opinion...
- If that were the case then they would have to place sanctions on Britain and Australia as well. Contrary to popular myth the U.S was not the only country who invaded Iraq.
- If your neighbor had a reputation of losing his noodle, spouting off threats of killing you and the other neighbors, should he still have the right to own a gun? Sure! Why not? He hasn't done anything wrong yet and just because he spews hateful threats, doesn't mean he will act on them.... right? Well, here we have a dilemma. The crazy neighbor who is sovereign and should have every right to carry weapons. After all, there are other crazy neighbors with guns, right? And, even the neighbors who everyone thinks are sane, seem a little nuts as well. Who has the right to judge...right?Here's the reality, right or wrong, if the rest of the neighborhood really thinks the crazy fool might actually shoot someone in a fit of lunacy, they might decide to gang up on him and take his gun away and you can't blame them if they do. Yes it's preemptive, but people will disregard fairness if they think you will hurt them. Iran should not be surprised if Israel nukes them anytime soon.
- US=die instantly because its the land of debt and spending. $88 trillion government debt can be demanded for repayment anytime.
- The UN authorized the invasion of Iraq by the coalition forces. How could they sanction that which they approved. Stop believing the leftist tripe and open your mind. Besides sanctioning the USA would be really stupid if you think about it. We buy more from the entire world than they do from us. Who would loose more?
